"Shivers" is a provocative and unsettling horror film from 1975, directed by David Cronenberg, is a masterclass in psychological horror that still holds up today. It's a chilling exploration of human desire and the consequences of scientific experimentation gone awry. Roger St. Luc, portrayed by Paul Hampton, brings a captivating intensity to his role in "Shivers." His portrayal of a conflicted doctor trying to navigate the chaos of a viral outbreak is both convincing and haunting. Hampton effectively conveys the character's moral dilemmas and internal struggles, adding depth to the film's narrative. Nurse Forsythe, played by Lynn Lowry, delivers a compelling performance that adds an extra layer of tension to the film. Lowry portrays the nurse with a mix of vulnerability and resilience, making her character a relatable and sympathetic figure amidst the horror unfolding around her. Her chemistry with Hampton's character adds emotional weight

to their interactions, enhancing the overall impact of the film. Together, Hampton and Lowry create a palpable sense of dread and unease as they navigate the increasingly dire circumstances of the outbreak. Although the low-budget production occasionally shows its age, the film's eerie atmosphere and grotesque imagery push boundaries, leaving a lasting impression on viewers, long after the film stops rolling. While it may not be for the faint of heart, "Shivers" is a must-watch for fans of classic horror looking for something truly unique and thought-provoking.
